Your questions answered
How do I search for a battery by brand and code?
Look on the battery label for the part number and search for it with the brand name. That leads directly to the matching product page.
How much weight should I expect to lift?
13.4 kg is the listed weight. For larger batteries, a second pair of hands makes fitting safer.
Can I keep the Long WPL40-12N on a shelf before fitting?
Store it fully charged, away from heat and frost, and give it a refresh charge before installation.
What size is the Long WPL40-12N and how much does it weigh?
Measurements are 199 × 166 × 171 mm, and it weighs 13.4 kg. Check the height under the bonnet or seat as well.
AGM: how it works
Picture a sponge holding the acid: that is roughly how an AGM cell works. Ambulances and police cars use AGM for their heavy electrical loads. Do not mix AGM and flooded batteries in one bank.

Installation and maintenance tips
Server rooms that run warm age standby batteries quickly. Take old batteries to an authorised recycling point and tape over the terminals. Emergency luminaires that go dark early during a drill usually need fresh cells.
