Frequently asked questions

How much weight should I expect to lift?

It weighs 16 kg. Use the handle if fitted and lift with your legs, not your back.

Does this battery start well in winter?

With 580A, it suits vehicles whose maker specifies that value or less. Cold climates benefit from extra.

Does this battery match my current one physically?

It measures 230 × 173 × 222 mm with positive on the right-hand side. If your current battery has the same size and layout, it will slot in and the leads will reach.

Can a battery be stored before use?

Yes, but all batteries self-discharge slowly. Check the voltage every few months and recharge if needed.

What lead-acid means for you

Maintenance-free flooded batteries have sealed caps. Flooded batteries offer strong starting current at a fair price. Pour in only distilled water, and only once the charge has finished.

Using it day to day: practical tips

A car parked outside through a cold snap asks far more of its battery than one kept in a garage. Check the alternator belt while the bonnet is open. A rotten-egg smell near the battery points to overcharging.
