Fitting and everyday care
Data centres replace whole strings of batteries on a schedule. Let the equipment charge new batteries fully before relying on them. Alarm panels that keep reporting low battery need attention.
About the technology: AGM
Tightly packed plates and mats give glass-mat batteries a sturdy inner structure. Low internal resistance lets AGM deliver strong bursts of current on demand. A full charge now and then helps an AGM battery that mostly works part-charged.
Five checks for a perfect fit
- ✓ Capacity 26Ah: equal to or a little above your old label is ideal.
- ✓ Connector style: F13(M5). Look closely at the old battery's posts or tabs and make sure they are the same type.
- ✓ Check that the alternator or controller suits AGM.
