Getting the best from the Ritar RL22000

Hospitals rely on standby batteries for critical equipment. Check the charging voltage setting on the equipment. Emergency luminaires that go dark early during a drill usually need fresh cells.

How AGM batteries work and how to look after them

Many glass-mat designs tolerate sideways mounting, as long as the maker says so. Backup systems rely on AGM because it can wait, fully charged, for years without fuss. Replace an AGM battery whose case has bulged.

Make sure it fits your vehicle or equipment

• ✓ Photograph your old terminals and compare with F10(M8).
• ✓ This reference uses AGM. If your current battery has a different technology printed on it, find out why before switching.
• ✓ Measure the space available: the case takes up 476 × 337 × 342 mm, and a few millimetres too many can stop the hold-down from closing.
