Buying the Varta J2 online

Made for trucks and farm machinery, the Varta J2 has to crank a cold engine while everything around it shakes. Heavy batteries need a cradle and clamp that grip the base ledge properly. Comparing batteries online helps keep every lorry in the depot on the same part number.

125Ah is right in the usual range for trucks and farm machinery.

Quick compatibility checklist

• ✓ Terminal layout: positive on the left-hand side. If your original is the mirror image, choose another reference rather than stretching the leads.
• ✓ Rated 125Ah: check that the charger or alternator in your system can refill a battery of that capacity in reasonable time.
• ✓ EN cranking amps of 720A. If you are unsure of your requirement, the vehicle handbook usually states it.

Getting the best from the Varta J2

Tractors that do short yard jobs between long idle spells rarely get a full charge. Keep a spare pair charged in the workshop during harvest. Mixing a fresh battery and a worn one in a 24-volt set is a classic mistake: both fail early.
