Getting the best from the Long WPL40-12

A care home's emergency lighting gets tested every month. Check the charging voltage setting on the equipment. After a few years on float, most sealed standby batteries are due for replacement.

Care tips for AGM batteries

Each AGM cell is packed so tightly that the plates barely move, even on a bumpy road. Wheelchairs and scooters often use AGM for clean, sealed power. Old-fashioned chargers without automatic cut-off are a poor match for glass-mat batteries.

Will the Long WPL40-12 fit?

• ✓ Set your charger to AGM before the first charge.
• ✓ A case of 199 × 166 × 171 mm must sit flat with the clamp closed.
• ✓ Do not go far below your old battery's capacity; this one has 40Ah.
