Long in this shop

Long is a manufacturer focused on valve-regulated lead-acid batteries. The largest part of its catalogue here is aimed at uninterruptible power supplies, security panels, telecoms and other backup applications. Mobility batteries for powerchairs and scooters come next, followed by starter batteries for cars and a few units for solar use.

Technology

Glass-mat AGM dominates, providing a sealed, maintenance-free battery that can be installed in various positions. A smaller number of gel models suit applications with heavier cycling.

Series to know

• WP: general-purpose standby blocks.
• WPS and KPH: high-rate types for UPS discharge.
• WPL and WXL: longer design life on float.
• LG and MSK: cyclic batteries for mobility and leisure.
• Starting Series: starter batteries for vehicles.

Reading a Long code

References such as LG12-12 or LG20-12N combine series, capacity and voltage, sometimes followed by a terminal suffix. Search Long plus the full code and check the terminal type before ordering, since spade widths vary.
