Practical advice for cars and vans

Short school runs and supermarket trips never give a car battery the chance to refill properly. Drive for at least twenty minutes after fitting to let the battery settle in. A battery that needs a jump after a weekend parked has lost too much capacity.

Make sure it fits your vehicle or equipment

✓ Outside dimensions are 236 × 127 × 224 mm. Run a tape measure over your tray or compartment, including the height under the bonnet or lid.
✓ Rated 45Ah: check that the charger or alternator in your system can refill a battery of that capacity in reasonable time.
