Q-Battery 12LS-17: what it is and who it suits
Made for UPS and standby systems, the Q-Battery 12LS-17 waits on float for years and takes over in an instant. Rated 17Ah 12V, it matches equipment designed around this code. Comparing batteries online is easier when terminal type is always shown.
Nothing unusual about 17Ah: a standard capacity for UPS and standby systems.

Q-Battery 12LS-17 in everyday use
Telecom cabinets at the roadside see heat in summer and frost in winter. Take old batteries to an authorised recycling point and tape over the terminals. Mixing old and new batteries in one UPS cuts runtime and harms the new blocks.
The AGM technology explained
Open up an AGM battery in your imagination and you would find the acid soaked into thin glass-fibre sheets squeezed against each plate. Recharging is quick with AGM, handy for vehicles that do short trips. Leaving a glass-mat battery flat for weeks invites sulphation.
Make sure it fits your vehicle or equipment
- ✓ Rated 17Ah: check that the charger or alternator in your system can refill a battery of that capacity in reasonable time.
- ✓ Terminal type: F13 (M5). Make sure your cable clamps or connectors suit it before fitting.
- ✓ A different chemistry from AGM may need system changes.
Answers before you buy
Should I charge a stored battery before use?
Yes, but all batteries self-discharge slowly. Check the voltage every few months and recharge if needed.
How large and heavy is this battery?
The case measures 181 × 77 × 167 mm and the battery weighs 5.7 kg. Check both against your tray and the hold-down before ordering, and lift it with care.
Same case, same terminal side
If you prefer another make, these fit the same space with the same terminal side.
