Fitting and everyday care
Estate gardeners use their tractors daily in summer. Use a low-current charger made for small batteries. A ten-minute cut will not bring a flat battery back.
How AGM batteries work and how to look after them
Glass-fibre separators in an AGM battery act like blotting paper for the acid. Recharging is quick with AGM, handy for vehicles that do short trips. Never try to open an AGM battery to add water.
Quick compatibility checklist
- ✓ Amp-hours: 4.5Ah. More capacity means more reserve for accessories and slower discharge when parked.
- ✓ A different chemistry from AGM may need system changes.
- ✓ Outside dimensions are 90 × 101 × 107 mm. Run a tape measure over your tray or compartment, including the height under the bonnet or lid.
