Rental fleets see machines handed back with batteries drained to the limit. Water flooded batteries with distilled water after charging, never above the mark. Grime and acid residue on top create leakage currents that drain the set.

What lead-acid means for you

Six cells of about two volts each make up a typical 12-volt battery. Tractors and trucks use robust flooded batteries. Avoid deep discharges, which encourage sulphation.
