Using it day to day: practical tips

A chair kept in a cold garage over winter often loses range. Fill the batteries up before the chair goes into storage. Pairing one fresh battery with one tired one makes both suffer.

About the technology: gel

Very little gas escapes from a gel battery during normal use. Powerchairs and mobility scooters often use gel because it takes daily deep discharges well. Do not equalise gel batteries.

Five checks for a perfect fit

• ✓ Do not go far below your old battery's capacity; this one has 7Ah.
• ✓ Check that the alternator or controller suits gel.
• ✓ Make room for 151 × 65 × 102 mm, including clearance above the posts.
