Practical advice for UPS and standby systems

Hospitals rely on standby batteries for critical equipment. Ventilate battery cabinets properly. Swollen cases point to overcharging or old age.

About the technology: AGM

Glass-mat batteries are sealed, with small valves that only open if pressure builds up. AGM suits UPS and standby systems where a maintenance-free battery makes life easier. Check the charging voltage limit printed on an AGM label.

Quick compatibility checklist

✓ Technology to match: AGM. Moving to a different chemistry may need settings changed in your system.
✓ Will it fit? The Long WP10-6 measures 151 × 50 × 100 mm, so compare length first, then width, then height with the lid or bonnet closed.
✓ With 10Ah of capacity, hold it up to the figure on the outgoing unit or in your equipment manual.
