Getting the best from the Long WP20-12N
A chair kept in a cold garage over winter often loses range. Charge indoors at normal room temperature, away from frost and sunny windows. Leaving batteries partly charged for days harms deep-cycle batteries.
AGM: how it works
Lead plates in AGM batteries are often slightly thinner than in flooded types. Many modern cars with brake energy recovery were designed around AGM from the start. Keep AGM terminals clean and tight.
Quick compatibility checklist
- ✓ Measure the space available: the case takes up 181 × 76 × 167 mm, and a few millimetres too many can stop the hold-down from closing.
- ✓ Consider extra loads such as a tow bar when comparing 20Ah.
- ✓ Chemistry: AGM. Some vehicles and chargers are programmed for a specific type, so check before swapping.
Your questions answered
Is the Long WP20-12N suitable for a 12V system?
Yes, if they are identical. Two 12V units of 20Ah in series give double the voltage; in parallel they give double the capacity at 12V.
Can I use my usual charger with this battery?
Look at the sticker on the battery you have now. If it also says AGM, this is a like-for-like choice. If not, check your vehicle or system can handle the change.
What range does the Long WP20-12N come from?
Yes, WP Series includes other sizes. The brand page lists them.
