Using it day to day: practical tips

Holiday trips with a travel scooter mean charging in hotel rooms. If the chair is going into storage, charge fully first and top up every few weeks. Charging with an unsuitable charger leaves batteries undercharged.

About the technology: AGM

Gas produced during charging recombines inside an AGM battery, so it loses almost no water. Glass-mat batteries shrug off vibration, which is why bikes and boats use them so often. Charge an AGM battery in a cool, ventilated place.

Make sure it fits your vehicle or equipment

• ✓ Chemistry: AGM. Some vehicles and chargers are programmed for a specific type, so check before swapping.
• ✓ Grab a tape measure: 181 × 77.5 × 170 mm is what this case needs.
• ✓ Do not go far below your old battery's capacity; this one has 24Ah.
