Installation and maintenance tips

A big garden with a sloping lawn works a ride-on mower hard. Keep the terminals clean and lightly greased. Robot mower packs that run out after a few minutes have reached the end.

What lithium (LiFePO4) means for you

No acid, no water, no gassing: lithium works on a completely different principle. Low self-discharge suits seasonal vehicles. Some lithium starter batteries need a brief load to warm up in cold weather.

Five checks for a perfect fit

• ✓ This reference uses lithium (LiFePO4). If your current battery has a different technology printed on it, find out why before switching.
• ✓ Measure the space available: the case takes up 91.5 × 67 × 26 mm, and a few millimetres too many can stop the hold-down from closing.
• ✓ Amp-hours: 2.5Ah. More capacity means more reserve for accessories and slower discharge when parked.
