Installation and maintenance tips
A scooter parked in a cold porch overnight starts the day with less range. Plug in at the end of each day out, whatever the gauge says. Replacing only one battery of a pair is a common mistake, and the newer one soon suffers too.
AGM: how it works
Each AGM cell is packed so tightly that the plates barely move, even on a bumpy road. Motorcycles benefit from glass-mat batteries because they tolerate lean angles and vibration. Over winter, a smart unit set to its AGM programme keeps a glass-mat battery healthy with no effort.
Quick compatibility checklist
- ✓ Amp-hours: 35Ah. More capacity means more reserve for accessories and slower discharge when parked.
- ✓ Connector style: M6. Look closely at the old battery's posts or tabs and make sure they are the same type.
- ✓ As a AGM battery it needs matching charge settings in the alternator, charger or solar regulator.
